Job summary

Mille Lacs Corporate Venture is seeking a Revenue Accounting professional to improve the daily audit process with a systematic approach. You will analyze daily documents from all revenue streams and prepare reports reflecting audit results.

The role requires at least 1 year of accounting experience or a related diploma, with responsibilities including reconciling revenue accounts, auditing records, and ensuring accuracy. Shift options include 6am-4pm or 7am-3pm.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of accounting experience or a post-secondary Accounting Diploma/1 year combined education/experience in accounting preferred.
• Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, analyze, and evaluate daily accounting documentation from all revenue streams.
• Prepare and present reports reflecting daily audit results and document processes.
• Reconcile coupons and complimentary receipts; record debits/credits to accounts.
• Reconcile General Ledger Revenue accounts regularly.
• Audit records for transaction accuracy and resolve discrepancies; inform management.
• Verify balances and entries and postings recorded by internal staff.

SUMMARY

In this role we will look to you to add value and improve our Revenue Accounting operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the daily audit process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

• Obtain, analyze, and evaluate all daily accounting documentation from all revenue streams.
• Prepare and present reports that reflect the daily audit’s results and document process.
• Reconciles all coupons and complimentary receipts. Processes appropriate debits or credits to accounts.
• Reconciles General Ledger Revenue accounts on a regular basis.
• Audits records for accuracy of transactions and reconciles or notes discrepancies. Informs management of all discrepancies.
• Verifies balances and entries, calculations, and postings recorded by internal Associates.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One (1) year accounting experience or post-secondary Accounting Diploma and/or one (1) year combined education/experience in accounting preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
• Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
• Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Talk and hear; ability to communicate effectively.
• See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
• Stand, walk, run, sit, (up to 8 hours) balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl.
• Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
• Be able to lift and carry objects up to twenty-five (25) lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

• A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
• A moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas).
