Job summary

LSU New Orleans seeks an accounting-focused professional to join the Department Medicaid Support. You will prepare, review, and maintain financial records and supporting documentation, and assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.

You will help monitor revenues, expenditures, budgets, and grants, maintaining organized records and supporting audits. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow up.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in Teams, and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and maintain financial records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting workpapers.
• Review financial transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
• Research and resolve routine accounting discrepancies.
• Compile and analyze financial information for reports and assist with month-end and year-end activities.
• Assist with monitoring revenues, expenditures, budgets, grants, and cash activity, and maintain organized records.
