Revenue Accounting Manager, Usage-Based SaaS

Job summary

PostHog bills on customer usage. This means we need to recognize revenue on usage basis and ensure the books reflect it monthly. You will own this entirely, knowing where every dollar came from and why it was recognized the way.

You'll work with finance, billing engineers and revops to ensure the GL tells the truth. If you enjoy being in the weeds and seeing impact at a fast-growing, natively remote company, this could be the right fit for you.

Qualifications

• 5 years of ownership of usage-based revenue recognition in AI/SaaS.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and close processes.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Ability to build processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Own daily revenue accounting operations for usage-based billing - journal entries, deferrals, recognition schedules, reconciliations, collections, tackling billing questions.
• Execute revenue side of month-end and year-end close with the team to hit deadlines and report accurate financials.
• Manage accounts receivable — collections, cash flow, and billing inquiries from Sales or customers.
• Support annual financial audit by organizing revenue docs and audit workpapers.
• Own the finance side of billing/accounting integration with Campfire ERP.
• Automate revenue accounting processes to improve efficiency as we scale.
