Job summary

OpenAI seeks a Revenue Accounting Manager to own revenue accounting for consumption and usage-based revenue recognition, driving systems, data flows, and journal entries for accurate reporting. You will lead onboarding of new revenue streams, Fusion Hub rule updates, and end-to-end source-to-general-ledger mapping.

Based in San Francisco with a hybrid 3-day office model and relocation assistance, you will coordinate cross-functional implementation work and strengthen the accounting

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a public company SOX environment with revenue exposure.
• CPA or equivalent and deep knowledge of ASC 606.
• Experience with consumption/usage-based revenue and high-volume data.
• Experience with complex multi-entity revenue and marketplace arrangements.
• Strong order-to-cash expertise and revenue close management.
• Ability to investigate data, reconcile activity to outputs, and validate journal entries.
• Capability to build scalable processes, automation, and internal controls.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion Accounting Hub or similar engines.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly close for usage-based revenue including entries, reconciliations, and controls.
• Prepare revenue journal entries and map source data to reporting outcomes.
• Perform reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, drive resolution.
• Lead flux analysis for revenue; explain forecast vs actual differences.
• Design and maintain strong revenue controls with audit-ready support.
• Own Fusion Accounting Hub rule updates; coordinate UAT and documentation.
• Support audits with control matrices and testing; remediate findings.
• Lead onboarding readiness for new payment providers and marketplace setups.
