Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Head of Revenue Accounting, Deal Desk & Technical Accounting in Seattle to own the accounting judgments behind rapid growth. You will lead complex revenue recognition, refine policies, and shape our internal controls and disclosures.

You’ll partner with Sales, Legal, and Finance to optimize deal structures, drive automation, and guide the revenue systems roadmap, while building and mentoring a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a high-performing accounting team.
• Deep ASC 606 revenue recognition expertise for software, subscription, or consumption-based models.
• Own complex technical accounting research and present memos under US GAAP.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating internal controls over financial reporting.
• Influence non-accounting stakeholders—Sales, Legal, and systems teams.
• Experience owning a revenue or billing platform (Zuora) as lead or owner.
• CPA or equivalent professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Own technical accounting and document positions for complex revenue recognition matters.
• Own the deal desk policy and execution for non-standard terms.
• Shape deal structures early with Sales and Legal to balance commercial needs and controllership.
• Lead revenue reporting and disclosures, including footnotes.
• Oversee revenue system enhancements and roadmap with Finance Systems.
• Advise on automation and system priorities with engineering and Finance teams.
• Design and implement internal controls for revenue and accounting processes.
• Build scalable processes and reduce manual effort through automation.
• Apply Claude to streamline research, memos, and contract reviews.
• Lead and grow the accounting team as the business scales.
