Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a senior leader to own accounting policy and technical accounting. You will define US GAAP treatment for usage-based and enterprise revenue, large compute transactions, and complex financings, partnering with the Controller and CFO teams.

You will build a whitepaper discipline to defend positions with auditors and regulators, and lead public-company-grade reporting readiness and SOX controls as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license.
• Public accounting tenure at top firm, Director/MD/Partner or SEC Fellow program.
• Deep US GAAP expertise and SEC reporting knowledge.
• Experience leading technical accounting or policy functions at high-growth tech companies.
• Ability to research, conclude, and document positions and defend with auditors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to explain complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting policy framework across significant areas and keep current with standards.
• Serve as lead technical advisor on novel, first-of-kind transactions (ASC 606, financing, equity, M&A).
• Build whitepapers and position memos documenting accounting conclusions for audit scrutiny.
• Lead discussions with external auditors and the SEC, driving timely resolution of issues.
• Prepare public-company-grade external reporting, disclosures, and close processes.
• Monitor and implement new FASB standards and SEC rules with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Legal, Tax, FP&A and deal teams early in transaction design.
• Advise on complex equity, financing and capital-market arrangements.
• Develop and scale a high-caliber technical accounting and policy team.
• Support leadership and Audit Committee with judgments and estimates.
