Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead the end-to-end close, apply ASC 606, and drive improvements across revenue, billing, and ERP systems. You will own reconciliations and provide data-driven insights to management.

The role requires 10+ years in revenue accounting or related fields, strong Excel/analytical skills, and experience with audits and SOX controls. This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast-evolving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate revenue accounting, or quote-to-cash operations.
• Strong understanding of ASC 606 and complex revenue recognition principles.
• Experience with close processes and improving close speed/quality.
• Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance/support for audits.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple workstreams, and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; experience with AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end monthly close, including journals, revenue estimates, and management reports.
• Apply ASC 606 to complex and non-standard customer arrangements; document conclusions.
• Pull and validate data across contracts, billing, revenue systems, and GL; resolve discrepancies.
• Own revenue subledger to GL reconciliations for deferred/revenue assets and unbilled AR.
• Analyze large datasets to identify drivers of revenue and provide management-ready insights.
• Lead system and process improvements; coordinate UAT with Engineering/Finance Data Services.
• Identify and implement automation for repetitive tasks using SQL, scripts or other tools.
• Collaborate with Revenue Ops, Billing, Legal, Sales Ops, FP&A, and Audit.
