Job summary

HappyRobot is seeking a Revenue Accounting Lead to design and stand up our revenue close from scratch, including platform credits, usage-based revenue, and services. You’ll automate the tasks with AI finance tools and shape the system flow with the Head of Accounting.

As a finance engineer, you’ll own the revenue sub-ledger, ASC 606 treatment, AR reconciliations, and the first revenue policy memo, building scalable, audit-ready processes that scale with the business.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of progressive revenue accounting experience.
• Finance engineer mindset: build scalable systems, reduce manual work.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in daily work.
• Strong judgment on what to automate versus human review.
• Solid knowledge of ASC 606 and related calculations.
• Ability to explain revenue concepts to engineers, sales, and leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design monthly and quarterly revenue close process and automate it.
• Replace manual revenue tasks with automation via systems or AI agents with human-in-the-loop decisions.
• Own and configure the revenue sub-ledger including credit-pool breakage and monthly true-up.
• Review contracts with RevOps for ASC 606 treatment and value-based pricing.
• Own AR accounting end-to-end: reconciliations, aging, and doubtful accounts with automation.
• Develop revenue policy memos and related policies for audit-ready processes.
