Job summary

Samsara is hiring for a Revenue Accounting Manager to lead contract reviews, ensuring ASC 606 compliance and automating close processes. This high-visibility role sits at the intersection of Accounting, Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk, shaping deals before signing and driving audit-ready outcomes.

You will report to the Director of Revenue Accounting and collaborate with external auditors, Deal Desk, and Sales to optimize revenue timing and presentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 at a public company, a high-growth technology company, or in public accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience reviewing customer contracts and documenting technical revenue recognition positions in written memos.
• Experience improving or automating accounting processes and controls, including hands-on work in an ERP or revenue subledger (NetSuite, Zuora, or RevPro).
• Experience owning SOX controls and supporting internal and external audits.
• Experience leading, managing, or mentoring accountants.

Responsibilities

• Own the Contract Review process end-to-end: evaluate non-standard and complex customer contracts, determine ASC 606 treatment and document positions.
• Drive automation and enhancement of revenue systems, close activities, and control design from business case to go-live.
• Partner with Sales, Legal, and Deal Desk during contract negotiations to influence revenue timing, classification, and presentation.
• Own the revenue control environment and external audit relationship; design and optimize SOX controls as the business evolves.
• Set precedent on complex revenue issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors and contract modifications.
• Build AI-enabled routines across revenue workstreams and maintain guardrails for quality and privacy.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles and hire, develop and lead an inclusive, high-performing team.
