Job summary

Progressive Life Center, Inc. (PLC) is a Black-led organization delivering culturally sensitive human services to families in the District of Columbia, surrounding Maryland, Philadelphia region, and Delaware.

This role focuses on supervising parent-child visitation and advancing family reunification under the Nurturing Parenting Program framework. The position requires an on-site schedule with flexible hours, engagement in weekly supervision, and data entry duties in PLC databases.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s in psychology, social work, counseling, education or other human service field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, and/or evenings for ~10–20 hours per week.
• Minimum one year of progressive experience with children, youth and families in human services.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience in human services best practices and training.
• Experience using MS Office Suite and databases.
• Effective oral and writing skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• On-site work schedule required.
• Flex schedule to accommodate family visitation needs.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle access, and ability to travel within city and surrounding regions.
• Complete Nurturing Families Program certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certification in NTU Service Delivery Model within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises parent-child visitation and coaches parents until reunification or services end.
• Identify and complete goals established for family.
• Conduct intakes and assessments.
• Support parents in establishing positive relationships and a safe home environment.
• Support overall well-being of children.
• Ensure accommodation of scheduling outside regular business hours.
• Attend and participate in weekly supervision.
• Attend and participate in trainings.
• Enter and maintain accurate data into PLC database or other contractual databases.
• Other duties as assigned.
