Working under direct supervision of the Supervisor of Returns the Returns Vendor Associate (RTVA) is responsible for managing customer returned merchandise back to original sources in a timely and appropriate manner for full credit. The RTVA negotiates with vendors and suppliers for Return Material Authorizations (RMA) or credit memo’s for destruction. RTVA’s are expected to build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers and stay current on their return policies. RTVA’s will need to possess problem-solving skills to identify why products are being returned and communicate opportunities and issues to management and Purchasing. RTVA’s must be familiar with receiving, shipping, material handling and inventory management processes. The Returns to Vendor Associate collaborates with other departments such as Customer Service, Refurb, Receiving, Returns Processors, Returns Material Handler, Purchasing and external Connection suppliers and Vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures all approved RMA requests are processed timely to return product back to vendors so Connection has received proper credit. The methods used will include email, phone call and portal use to obtain a response.
  • Works closely with vendors via phone or email regarding following up on aging inventory RMA requests.
  • Ensures denied products are identified with rational reasoning to escape denial, in a timely fashion with supporting information and negotiates the RMA approval to be returned back to vendors or restock fees as needed.
  • Use department tools and reports to document RMA requests to maintain current, accurate and complete information. Attention to detail to be used to identify and report any issues or irregularity to management.
  • Assists Returns processors and Returns material handlers as needed.
Requirements
  • Basic computer knowledge with ability to operate keyboard for data entry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to create a document or simplespreadsheet.
  • Working knowledge of computer operation and repair and ability to fill in for refurbishment and configuration tasks.
  • Skilled at identifying Item & SKU products as they are received.
  • Working knowledge of the Inventory Control process with ability to track, validate and maintain a working inventory.
  • Attention to detail in composing, keying, and proofing professional business materials.
  • Solid understanding of policies, procedures and contracts related to returns to vendor.
  • Strong knowledge of Connection tools and software such as JDE, Filemaker and CallTracker.
  • Good product management skills.
