Job summary

Rivian in Normal, IL seeks a hands-on Program Manager for Returnable Container Operations & Logistics to own the lifecycle and execution of reusable packaging assets. You will connect shop-floor realities with 3PL accountability and drive fleet optimization, maintenance standards, and asset counts to minimize loss.

The role demands strong data-driven decision making, cross-functional collaboration, and direct liaison with suppliers and internal Rivian teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience focused on returnable asset management, container fleet logistics, or industrial packaging operations.
• Proven track record of managing 3PL vendors and enforcing contracts.
• Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Asset Tracking software (RFID/GPS), TMS, and data analytics tools (Tableau, PowerBI).

Responsibilities

• Fleet Maintenance, Quality & Asset Control: Define cleaning processes for returnable packaging and establish maintenance schedules.
• Shop Floor Operations: Maintain daily presence on production/warehouse floors to observe container utilization and bottlenecks.
• 3PL Vendor & Supplier Accountability: Own performance against SLAs, enforce KPIs, and manage chargebacks.
• Cross-Functional Program Management: Collaborate with Packaging Engineering during NPI and align container return loops with production schedules.
• Work Environment: On-site role at Normal, IL facility with hands-on auditing of container flows.
