Job summary

GLS North America is seeking a Retrofit/Recon Technician to bring vehicles back to factory specs and retrofit updated parts and calibrations. You will work on a variety of automotive projects, ensuring quality and road readiness while following the SAS mission and DRIVEN values.

The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, re-flashing modules, and performing PDIs, with competitive hourly pay and a Monday–Friday schedule. Experience with tools and independent work is valued.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to drive company vehicles at Milford Proving Grounds.
• Must be mechanically inclined and own tools or willingness to purchase tools.
• Must have familiarity with re-flashing modules and calibrations.
• Must have exceptional critical thinking/problem-solving skills.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
• Must be a reliable team player.
• Forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues, noises, vibrations, etc.
• Replace worn, broken, or EX parts.
• Reflash calibrations/modules back to factory standards.
• Install LPO parts and perform PDI (pre-delivery inspection).
• Test drive vehicles to ensure the vehicle is road-ready.
• Complete paperwork and input hours worked into productivity software.
• Complete campaigns and safety bulletins.
• Perform routine services as needed.
• Scrap vehicle teardown as needed.
• Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.
