Job summary

Alerus Financial is seeking an Account Manager to provide day-to-day client support and act as the primary point of contact for plan-related inquiries. You will collaborate with internal teams to deliver superior service and maintain ongoing client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have a business degree, 2+ years in defined contribution customer service, and proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel, with ASPPA fundamentals completed within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years’ experience in defined contribution plan customer service/customer relationships.
• ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals course must be taken and passed within 12 months of hire date.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Focus on continuous improvement with history of process enhancements or efficiency efforts.
• Ability to work independently and set priorities.
• Ability to interpret documents and resolve technical problems.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support client relationships and ensure their needs are met with care and attention, under senior guidance.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with a portfolio of clients.
• Serve as day-to-day contact for client inquiries and support.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met.
• Track account activity and update CRM tools and documentation regularly.
