Job summary

Midwest Capital Advisors is seeking a proactive Retirement Plan Associate in Grand Rapids to support our defined contribution retirement plan practice. You will help manage 401(k) and 403(b) offerings, communicating directly with clients and meeting with advisors.

We provide training, mentorship, and a clear path to growth within the advisory team. You will learn from licensed professionals and develop retirement plan acumen, skills, and digital workflows, with potential to advance to a lead

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field.
At least one year of relevant investment and financial advisory experience.
Registered as an Investment Advisor Representative in the state of Michigan or able to become registered within the first six months.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial topics clearly and effectively.
Strong attention to details, analytical skills, and problem solving.
Track record of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously and following through.
Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new technologies, AI tools, software platforms, and digital workflows quickly.
Entrepreneurial mindset, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

Coordinate plan-level and participant-level service offering in conjunction with advisers.
Act as liaison between retirement plan clients and plan's Recordkeeper/TPA/Benefit Counsel.
Handle inbound participant inquiries, enrollments, and transfers.
Assist in the establishment and maintenance of retirement plan client files and CRM records.
Attend sales presentations for new retirement plan prospects and ongoing committee meetings for existing clients.
Attend retirement plan enrollment meetings and present when appropriate.
Stay current on all aspects of the qualified plan market (products, compliance, technology).
