Job summary

Zenith American Solutions is seeking a Retirement Benefits Specialist to handle technical and administrative duties for processing retirement benefit inquiries and applications in compliance with company policies and plan guidelines.

The role requires attention to detail, integrity, and discretion in handling PHI and PII, with responsibilities spanning document scanning, eligibility determinations, and communications with participants, unions, and employers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months experience working in a professional environment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials, technical procedures, benefit plans and regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong understanding of discretion and the appropriate handling of sensitive information.
• Solid organization skills with an attention to detail.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
• Computer proficiency including MS Office tools and applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of assigned Plan(s).
• Scans applications and relevant documents into the system.
• Processes retirement benefit applications; verifies information and researches past service credits.
• Responds to inquiries from participants, beneficiaries, and union representatives.
• Determines benefit eligibility and requests necessary documentation.
• Prepares correspondence regarding account information and retirement history.
• Performs data entry and updates retirement data in systems.
• Assists with special projects as requested by management.
