Job summary

Transamerica in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for an experienced Client Relationship Associate to support daily retirement plan administration and strengthen client partnerships. You will collaborate with Client Executives and internal teams to deliver accurate, timely service and maintain high client satisfaction.

Required: a Bachelor’s degree, three years in retirement or financial services, and strong MS Office skills (Excel).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent education/experience.
• Three years of customer relationship experience, including one year in retirement or financial services.
• Knowledge of daily administration of retirement plans.
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Effective presentation, influence and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to align with Transamerica’s Future Fit Culture (One, Accountability, Agility, Customer Centricity).
• Proficiency using MS Office tools, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, provide support for daily administration of retirement plans and build strong client relationships.
• Coordinate with manager to research issues and negotiate resolutions.
• Develop proactive relationships with clients, financial professionals, and internal service teams to ensure client retention and profitability.
• Provide prompt, accurate information meeting quality metrics.
• Identify possible improvements and communicate them to management.
• Collaborate with internal partners to address client needs and develop action plans.
• Demonstrate knowledge of recordkeeping, outsourcing and processing capabilities.
• Attend training to gain retirement plan knowledge on design and requirements.
• Gather data from multiple systems to interpret, troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Lead effective client meetings, in person or via conference call.
• Mentor new account managers.
