Job summary

Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc is seeking an ERG Technician to join our retina specialty testing team in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The role focuses on patient-facing diagnostic testing, including VEPs, mfERGs, ffERGs, EOGs, and related procedures, under supervision of the Specialty Testing Coordinator.

You will participate in a training program, work with physicians and clinical staff, and contribute to high-quality patient care while developing skills in retinal

Responsibilities

• Independently perform specialized diagnostic testing (VEPs, mfERGs, ffERGs, EOGs, Roth 28 Disc Color VA, visual field testing).
• Prepare patients, explain procedures, and provide clear instructions.
• Apply and remove electrodes around eyes and scalp.
• Administer dilation and numbing drops as required.
• Establish rapport and reassure anxious or difficult patients.
• Troubleshoot testing issues and adjust to obtain reliable results.
• Document testing in the EHR per protocols.
• Maintain testing equipment and supplies.
• Communicate concerns to the Coordinator and clinical staff.
• Coordinate testing workflow with the Coordinator and team.
• Assist with genetic testing workflows (consent forms, saliva samples, lab submissions).
• Handle testing for multiple patients with accuracy and efficiency.
