Job summary

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) seeks an Analyst III to lead the statewide employee engagement and retention initiatives. You will drive complex projects, analyze workforce trends, and design actionable solutions that improve the employee experience across the state.

Under the supervision of the Retention Solutions unit, you will serve as a subject-matter expert, manage research and program activities, and travel to institutions as necessary.

Job Description And Duties

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is proud to launch an innovative Employee Engagement and Retention Program, designed to identify what truly matters to our workforce, elevate the employee experience, and foster long-term career satisfaction.

As an Analyst III, you’ll be at the forefront of this transformative initiative. Imagine leading complex, high-impact projects, uncovering critical workforce trends, designing actionable solutions, and turning data into strategies that empower employees across the state. Your insights won’t just inform decisions, they’ll shape the future of employee engagement at CCHCS.

Effective July 1, 2025 in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit (R01), and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 30, 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Under the general direction of the Supervisor I (Retention Solutions), the Analyst III will perform the most complex program activities and related research in the development and implementation of the Department’s employee engagement and retention efforts. The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert and program policy advisor to the unit and leads the research, assessment, and project management activities for the statewide implementation of the retention efforts. Travel is required, as necessary, for administration of the program to institutions and various CCHCS locations throughout the state.

This position is located in Human Resources (HR), which delivers innovative programs and services that attract, cultivate, and serve a diverse, highly-qualified workforce. California Correctional Health Care Services’ HR professionals provide outstanding customer service, provide tools and resources for job development and advancement, and ensure fairness and accuracy in all aspects of HR.
