Job summary

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is launching an Employee Engagement and Retention Program. As an Analyst III, you’ll lead complex, high-impact projects, uncover workforce trends, designing actionable solutions, and turning data into strategies that empower employees across the state.

Reporting to the Supervisor I in HR, you will oversee research activities, reviews, and project management for the statewide implementation of the employee experience and engagement efforts.

• Serve as subject matter expert and program advisor on the employee experience efforts.

Effective July 1, 2025 in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit (R01), and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 30, 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Under the general direction of the Supervisor I (Employee Experience and Engagement), the Analyst III will perform the most complex program activities and related research in the development and implementation of the Department’s employee engagement and retention efforts. The incumbent serves as the subject matter expert and program advisor, leads research activities, reviews assessment, and project management activities for the statewide implementation of the employee experience and engagement efforts. Travel is required, as necessary, for administration of the program to institutions and various CCHCS locations throughout the state.

This position is located in Human Resources (HR), which delivers innovative programs and services that attract, cultivate, and serve a diverse, highly-qualified workforce. California Correctional Health Care Services’ HR professionals provide outstanding customer service, provide tools and resources for job development and advancement, and ensure fairness and accuracy in all aspects of HR.
