Mars Men is seeking a Retention Copywriter to own the full lifecycle email and SMS copy—from welcome series to post-purchase, replenishment, and win-back campaigns. You will manage the weekly calendar, write subject lines and CTAs, and test offers and angles to drive revenue across segments in a remote, high-growth environment.

You will collaborate with a small in-house team, ensure brand voice consistency, and stay within our compliance guidelines while scaling messaging for a fast-growing DTC

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct response copywriting for DTC, ecommerce, consumer brands, or agencies with email and SMS in your portfolio.
• Demonstrated subject line and body copy work tied to open rate, click rate, revenue per recipient, or conversion.
• Ability to write inside a defined brand voice from research documents.
• Familiarity with Klaviyo or a comparable ESP and how flows, segments, and dynamic content behave.
• Strong consumer psychology and persuasive communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Experience writing for subscription or replenishment businesses, including cancel-save and dunning copy.
• Self-starter who takes ownership and thrives in high-growth teams.

Responsibilities

• Write email and SMS copy across the full lifecycle, including welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, replenishment, subscription upsell, winback, and cancel-save.
• Own the weekly campaign calendar copy: subject lines, preview text, body, and CTAs for both prospects and active subscribers.
• Run tests on subject lines, offers, and angles; form hypotheses and roll winners into evergreen flows.
• Adapt proven acquisition angles into retention without recycling ad copy verbatim.
• Write to segment so different customers receive appropriate messages.
• Keep all claims within compliance guardrails based on the approved guide.
• Brief the designer and implementer at project start to ensure copy, layout, and build move together.
