Job summary

Le Pain Quotidien in Westwood, CA is hiring for a part-time team member to provide warm hospitality and attentive service through all guest touchpoints. You will prepare beverages, assist with pastry and retail items, handle transactions, and maintain a welcoming dining room and retail space.

The role requires 1–3 months of restaurant experience, familiarity with POS systems (Toast a plus), flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to work across dining room and retail areas.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 months of related restaurant experience or training.
• Experience with POS systems, especially Toast, is a plus.
• Flexibility in schedule is highly preferred but not required.
• Ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the dining room and retail space preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language of the work location.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and attentive service to all guests throughout the visit.
• Anticipate guest needs and note preferences.
• Prepare drinks for retail and dining room, including batches for the retail counter.
• Bag, box, and arrange to-go food and pastry.
• Handle sales transactions per cash handling policy.
• Maintain pastry display and knowledge of menu items.
• Assist guests with empathy and escalate to a manager when needed.
• Complete opening, mid, and closing procedures and daily checks.
• Keep restaurant clean and organized following checklists.
• Answer phones with proper etiquette and take orders over the phone.
