Job summary

Gordon Food Service Store in Madison, WI is seeking a Retail Team Leader to drive daily store operations, lead sales associates, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will open and close the store, manage stock, handle cash, and support training while meeting safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
• Retail supervisory experience (preferred).
• Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Schedule: flexible, full-time including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Operate power equipment where applicable (slicing equipment, walkie lifts, forklifts).
• Respond to alarm calls during non-working hours; may work across stores locally.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• High School Diploma / Equivalent.
• Pre-employment checks including drug screen and background check.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the Store.
• Help complete daily Store operations and tasks.
• Unloading merchandise from delivery trucks; organize and transfer stockroom to store.
• Maintain merchandise with rotation, proper handling, receiving, and quality.
• Provide exceptional customer service; build relationships and sales.
• Cash handling - deposits, change, counting down registers.
• Build and train the team; develop leadership in supervising duties.
