Job summary

Shoe Carnival in Charleston, WV is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, act as a key holder, and lead a team to deliver a customer-first experience.

The role is full-time with hourly compensation and daily pay options. You’ll train staff, manage cash controls, and collaborate with leadership to drive sales while maintaining store standards and loss-prevention practices.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of retail or customer service experience.
• Must be able to obtain Key Carrier Certification within 60 days.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends & holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old due to keyholder responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as a key holder.
• Support the General Manager in reaching sales goals.
• Lead customer service efforts and resolve issues professionally.
• Train and guide associates on processes and standards.
• Delegate daily tasks and coordinate breaks.
• Assist with visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Perform register overrides, safe/till counts, and cash reconciliation.
• Follow and promote loss prevention procedures.
