Job summary

Shoe Carnival is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, serve as a key holder, and lead by example in a fast-paced, customer-first environment. Responsibilities include supporting the General Manager, guiding associates, handling cash and register duties, and ensuring store presentation and loss‑prevention practices.

2+ years in retail is preferred; certification within 60 days is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Key Carrier Certification within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as a key holder.
• Support the General Manager in reaching sales goals.
• Lead customer service efforts and resolve issues professionally.
• Train and guide associates on processes and standards.
• Delegate daily tasks and coordinate breaks.
• Assist with visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Perform register overrides, safe/till counts, and cash reconciliation.
• Follow and promote loss prevention procedures.
