Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of North Carolina LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations, elevate customer service, and develop team members in Kannapolis, NC. You’ll partner with the Store Manager to drive sales, maintain standards, and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping experience.

Ideal candidates bring retail leadership, strong communication, and a bias for action in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery is preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store tasks as part of daily duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and process corporate directives.
• Maintain promotional fixtures, assist in ordering merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash and ensure policies are followed.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
