Job summary

Family Dollar in Kiel, Wisconsin is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. This part-time role involves assisting with daily store activities, merchandising, opening/closing duties, and ensuring a clean, organized store that meets company standards.

You will help supervise Store Associates, maintain a safe environment, and handle inventory, payroll and cash handling tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety procedures; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Provide a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
