Retail Store Manager - Empire

Buff City Soap is on a mission to create handmade products free of harsh ingredients, full of nourishing plant-based ingredients to make your skin happy. Our products are made fresh daily in each soap makery with pronounceable ingredients. We are currently accepting applications for a Store Manager position. The Store Manager contributes to our success by leading a team to deliver the Buff City Experience, managing the overall operation of the makery, supervising staff, ensuring client satisfaction, maintaining cleanliness, and managing safety and security.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Develop and coach employees to provide excellent client experiences.
• Address client concerns promptly.
• Set a positive example and maintain composure during busy times.
• Hold team accountable for quality service.
• Drive company metrics through action plans and team motivation.
• Promote company culture, values, and mission.
• Delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage stock of raw materials, finished products, and supplies.
• Maintain store conditions and visual merchandising standards.
• Oversee production, cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization of the makery.
• Manage staffing levels to support employee development and operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
• Use operational tools for planning and achieving excellence.
• Utilize financial reports to monitor performance and address issues.
• Conduct performance assessments and set goals for sales improvement.
• Manage ongoing sales activities.
• Work a minimum of 5 days per week, approximately 40-45 hours, including varying shifts.
• Have reliable transportation for banking and other tasks.

Experience & Skills:

• College education preferred but not required.
• Management and/or sales experience required.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong client service, operational, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Leadership and team-building skills.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Not sensitive to scents and fragrances.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform cleaning functions and physical movements such as reaching, climbing, balancing, and stooping.
