Job summary

Carpenter's Place's Carpenter's Corner thrift store is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations and drive revenue growth while advancing the mission of our nonprofit. You will oversee staff and volunteers, ensure excellent customer service, and manage merchandising and donor assets.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in retail or nonprofit retail, and the ability to schedule flexible shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Business Administration, Retail Sales, or Marketing preferred.
• Two years of staff management and development experience preferred or an equivalent education/experience mix.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor store operations to drive revenue growth.
• Select, train, coach and schedule personnel to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Demonstrate and promote superior customer service; lead by example.
• Implements and monitors systems for daily cash and credit transactions and deposits.
• Responsible for accurate handling of donated assets: including merchandise flow, pricing and merchandising sales floor.
• Manages maintenance and appearance of the store with regards to appearance, cleanliness, safety, security and utility.
• Must be available for a flexible schedule; to work opening shifts, closing shifts, and at least 2 Saturdays per month.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.

Carpenter's Corner is hiring a Store Manager to support the mission of Carpenter's Place through our store, Carpenter's Corner Thrift and More. The Carpenter's Corner Manager is responsible for the overall management of the store's day-to-day operations. The position oversees all facets of the \"thrift and more\" concept, while playing an active role in planning Carpenter's Corner's future growth

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Direct and monitor store operations to drive revenue growth.


• Select, train, coach and schedule personnel (employees, volunteers and program participants) to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.


• Demonstrate and promote superior customer service. Leading by example and expecting the highest level of customer service.


• Implements and monitors systems for daily cash and credit transactions and deposits.


• Responsible for accurate handling of donated assets: including merchandise flow, pricing and merchandising sales floor.


• Manages maintenance and appearance of the store with regards to appearance, cleanliness, safety, security and utility


• Must be available for a flexible schedule; to work opening shifts, closing shifts, and at least 2 Saturdays per month, in order to observe and provide training to all store employees, volunteers and program participants.


• Any and all other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to lead, train, and manage staff and volunteers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Retail Sales, or Marketing is preferred. Two years of experience in staff management and development are preferred or any combination of education and experience.
