Job summary

Hayward Lumber is seeking a Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our Redwood City store. You will hire, train, and schedule staff while driving sales and maintaining inventory levels.

You will handle customer inquiries and ensure excellent service, while upholding company policies and safety standards. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of lumber/retail experience, strong leadership, and the ability to motivate a team to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience in lumber & building supplies retail
• Strong people management and team building skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
• Ability to motivate team members to increase productivity
• Knowledge of current employee labor law (meals & breaks)
• Experience in retail environment, merchandising, inventory control, material handling and delivery
• Well organized and able to multi-task and prioritize
• Must pass drug test and consent to background check

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail store, ensuring it runs efficiently and delivers an exceptional customer experience. Key duties include managing store staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling, as well as setting sales goals and ensuring they are met. The role also involves maintaining inventory levels, managing budgets, handling customer inquiries and complaints, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
