Job Summary

PetSmart’s Store Leader oversees safety, pet parent experience, operations, finances, and HR functions within the store. This role provides leadership by driving culture and strategies, achieving results, championing pet parent service, and upholding company values.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

People Leadership

• Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and terminating staff.
• Creating an open-door culture, engaging with associates, and responding to feedback.
• Scheduling, associate development, recognition, and managing grievances.

Overall Store Experience

• Leading the associate and pet parent experience, ensuring safety and health of pets.
• Building a positive store environment, evaluating operations, and collaborating on community events.
• Maintaining store standards, safety, inventory, and compliance.

Business Management

• Driving profitability, analyzing reports, and managing expenses.
• Creating improvement plans, managing payroll, and reporting.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years retail leadership or customer-focused experience.
• Full-time availability, flexible schedule, proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Oversees Experience Leader, Process Leader, and up to 70 associates, in accordance with policies.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to pets and noise.
