Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager with daily operations, staffing, merchandising, inventory control, and customer service. This role supports development of an external candidate for the Store Manager position and is intended for a limited period.

The incumbent will participate in recruiting, stock handling, and store procedures, while ensuring safety, cash controls, and accurately completing paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Two+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Retail grocery/store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and stock management per policy.
• Help manage inventory, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure in-stock targets and cashier accountability.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations support.
• Assist in opening/closing store and handling deposits.
