Job summary

Citi Trends in Johnston, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and lead a team to deliver strong sales performance and customer service. You will work closely with the Store Manager on staffing, onboarding, and development of store associates.

You will supervise cash handling, inventory control, and compliance with company policies while coaching associates to meet performance standards and maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3-5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer experience standards.
• Monitor sales activity and provide guidance to associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, inventory transactions, and shrink prevention efforts.
• Assist the Store Manager with hiring and recruiting activities, including candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and training support.
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to associates.
