Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. in Carlsbad, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to supervise all areas of store operations. You will learn all aspects of store operations and lead the store in the absence of the Store Manager to ensure standards and best practices are consistently met.

You will help manage scheduling, payroll, customer service programs, merchandising, and safety, while upholding company policies and training non-exempt associates for success.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to supervise, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize, give direction and follow through to completion.
• Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment.
• Maintain high quality of Customer service.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Leads all Company Best Practices and maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working.
• Analyzes store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall store performance.
• Ensures scheduling of Associates to meet business objectives and compliance with regulations.
• Maintains a safe and secure environment and conducts monthly safety meetings.
• Supervises customer service programs and merchandise presentation.
• Directs supervision of all non-exempt Associates and supports development.
• Upholds Ross brand and dress code while maintaining a clean store environment.
• Assists in inventory processes and loss prevention efforts.
