Job summary

Ace Hardware in Loveland, CO is seeking an Assistant Manager to run daily store operations in partnership with the Store Manager. This full-time, exempt role shares responsibility for maximizing sales, controlling costs, stocking, and merchandising while delivering Ace’s service standard.

The candidate will lead, develop, and coach associates, make decisions when the Store Manager is away, and help drive in-store marketing, inventory control, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in retail.
• Supervisory experience; exposure to P&L and budgeting a plus.
• Hardware product knowledge or willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager on hiring decisions; hire in the manager’s absence.
• Train and develop associates; provide ongoing feedback.
• Supervise staff to meet sales goals and follow procedures.
• Conduct evaluations and address opportunities with urgency.
• Forecast scheduling needs and create work schedules.
• Co-manage payroll to budget with the Store Manager; take corrective action.
• Coordinate in-store marketing and promotions with the Store Manager.
• Delegate daily work to meet merchandising standards; work with vendors.
