Family Dollar in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support day-to-day store operations and customer service while developing the team. You will help organize merchandising, supervise associates, and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers.

The role requires strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficiency, loss prevention, and adherence to company policies. The position is full-time and based on-site at a busy urban store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent standing, walking, bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and payroll/scheduling/cash handling.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and restocking.
• Other duties as assigned.
