Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Statesville, NC is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and deliver exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter, has initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure each department's responsibilities are completed.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained per manuals.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold all company policies and procedures as listed in manuals and memos.
• Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud.
