Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an experienced Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations in a fast-paced retail environment. You will supervise and coach non-exempt associates, manage scheduling and payroll, and ensure compliance with safety and company policies.

The role emphasizes guest service excellence, merchandising, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, inviting store that aligns with Ross Stores' brand standards. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail environment.
Ability to supervise, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, direct and follow through to completion.
Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment.
Maintain high quality of Customer service.
Fluency in English.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.

Responsibilities

Lead all company best practices and maximize productivity by minimizing steps and touches.
Assist analysis of store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall store performance.
Communicate variances to company standards to the Store Manager.
Ensure proper scheduling of associates to meet business objectives.
Ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.
Ensure scheduling and completion of all associate cleaning tasks throughout the store, including restrooms.
Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing non-exempt associates.
Maintain safety and security policies and conduct monthly safety meetings.
Provide customer service excellence at registers and service desks.
