Job summary

Ross Stores, a leading retailer, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to guide daily operations and support the Store Manager. The role focuses on managing customers, associates, merchandising and policy adherence across all store activities.

You will assist in payroll, scheduling, staffing, training and ensuring compliance with safety standards while driving store performance and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to supervise, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, give direction and follow through to completion.
• Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment.
• Maintain high quality of Customer service.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead all areas assigned by the Store Manager and follow policies for Customers, Associates and merchandising.
• Learn all phases of Store operations and be prepared to lead the operation in the Store Manager's absence.
• Assist in analyzing Store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and performance.
• Coordinate scheduling to meet business objectives and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist in payroll administration and daily punch edits.
• Support recruiting, hiring, training and development of non-exempt Associates.
• Monitor safety, housekeeping and loss prevention efforts.
