Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead a customer‑first store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandising, handle cash and deposits, and ensure daily operations run smoothly.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills, plus at least a high school diploma. Retail supervisory experience is preferred and the position is on site in Florida.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Math calculations including percentages required.
• Cashier accountability and deposit procedures knowledge.
• Experience in retail supervision preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, displays and rotations.
• Maintain inventory levels; control damages, markdowns, scanning and paperwork.
• Implement planograms; ensure displays match standards.
• Ensure financial integrity: cashier accountability, deposits, refunds and tills.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager’s absence.
