Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, and store profitability. You will lead customer service efforts, supervise staff, and ensure accurate cash handling and security practices.

You will also assist with scheduling, training, and compliance, while maintaining merchandise presentation and inventory controls. The role requires flexibility for early/late shifts and occasional travel to nearby stores.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
