Job summary

Goodwill Industries Group in South Bend, IN is seeking a Part-Time Custodian/Janitor to maintain a clean, safe store environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring health standards are met. You will coordinate with store staff, respond to spills, operate floor scrubbers and vacuums, and report maintenance issues to keep the facility welcoming for customers and employees.

Authorized to work in the United States and flexible availability help fit a daytime shift.

Qualifications

Experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred.
Familiarity with cleaning supplies and safety practices.
Ability to follow cleaning schedules and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing) throughout the facility.
Empty trash, recycling and ensure proper waste disposal.
Maintain exterior areas (sidewalks, parking lots) clean and debris-free.
Respond promptly to spills to prevent hazards and maintain cleanliness.
Follow health and safety guidelines and report issues to management.
Identify hazards and participate in safety training sessions.
Operate cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers) and report malfunctions.
Coordinate cleaning with store staff and management; assist with maintenance scheduling.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
