DigiKey Outfitters in Thief River Falls, MN, is hiring a Retail Store Associate to support daily store operations, assist with stocking, POS transactions, and merchandising, and help deliver a welcoming shopping experience.

In this onsite role, you’ll work Monday–Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm, handle returns and exchanges, support events, and help ensure product availability and accurate inventory while upholding company standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in retail, customer service, or hospitality preferred.
• Able to learn product information and communicate benefits to customers.

This role assists with merchandise stocking, inventory organization, point-of-sale transactions, visual merchandising, and store presentation. The Retail Store Associate also supports promotions, special events, and merchandise programs while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment.Working closely with store team members, vendors, and internal stakeholders, this position helps ensure product availability, accurate inventory levels, and excellent customer service. The Retail Store Associate serves as a friendly and knowledgeable resource for team members and visitors, supporting DigiKey Outfitters operations and company branding initiatives.This position also assists and supports the Community Relations and Event team members with events, programs, and other initiatives as needed.This is considered an essential onsite role, which requires daily onsite attendance.Responsibilities:Provide exceptional customer service by greeting team members and visitors, understanding their needs, and sharing product knowledge and recommendationsPromote a positive shopping experience through friendly, professional interactions and suggestive selling techniquesProcess sales transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) systemHandle returns, refunds, exchanges, and other customer service requests in accordance with store proceduresProcess team member purchases, donation requests, gifts, and other internal merchandise ordersMaintain accurate POS records by identifying, correcting, and documenting transaction or entry errorsStock, organize, and replenish merchandise to ensure products are available, properly displayed, and easy for customers to locateReceive and unpack shipments, verify quantities against packing documentation, and report discrepancies as neededPrepare merchandise for the sales floor, including labeling, merchandising, and maintaining visual presentation standardsMonitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to appropriate team membersProvide feedback regarding merchandise trends, inventory concerns, product issues, and opportunities to improve store operationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment, including sales floor, stockroom, fixtures, and displaysSupport store promotions, team member engagement initiatives, and special events as assignedOrdering items from DigiKey stock – i.e. batteries, flashlights, other electronics, etc to fill current offerings – look for other items DigiKey sells that would our team members may appreciate.Assist with data entry for donations, gifts, etc.Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders to address customer questions, merchandise requests, and service-related concernsFollow established company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while supporting daily store operationsCommunity Relations and Events:Assist as needed in Community Relations and Events efforts, including implementing and carrying out Events and other programs for all company team membersWork outside of regularly scheduled hours as needed to support community or company-based eventsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.One (1) year of retail, customer service, hospitality, or related experienceBasic understanding of retail sales and customer service practicesKnowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling proceduresStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsAbility to accurately process transactions and maintain attention to detailBasic problem-solving skills and ability to address customer concerns professionallyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to learn product information and communicate features and benefits to customersTools/Systems/Software:Microsoft Office SuiteSharePointPoint-of-Sale (POS) SystemsInventory Management SystemsCanva or similar design platformsMerchandise and vendor management platformsPhysical Requirements:Spend most of the workday on your feet between locations, lifting, moving merchandise, and supporting team membersOccasionally sits at a workstation operating computer device, including keyboard, mouse, label makers, and screenRegularly move throughout office, event, and retail environmentsRegularly lift, carry, stock, and move merchandise, supplies, event materials, and unpacking of inventory up to 35lbsGenerally, perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, and other parts of the bodyCompensation:The starting base pay rate for this position is:$20.00______________________________________________________________________Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
