Job summary

IKEA Madison is seeking a Retail Store Associate who will float between departments to create a positive shopping experience. You will help customers, maintain merchandise standards, and learn product features to assist customers in making informed choices.

The role includes stocking, processing transactions, and delivering a simple, efficient returns experience. Availability on weekends and during peak periods is expected, with a starting wage reflective of experience.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Store Associate, floating between various departments, contributing to a successful shopping experience, you will:

• Actively approach customers requiring additional help, identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
• Keep area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked. Ensures that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience.
• Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices, resulting in a better overall shopping experience.
• Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
• Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
• Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
• Flow product to final selling location.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide customers with a simple and efficient Full Serve Hand Out experience.
• Provide the customer with a simple and smooth returns and exchange experience.

Anticipated start date- Early October

We are hiring:

• Full-time associates, requires full open availability
• Part-time associates, requires full weekend availability
• Seasonal Full-time associates, requires full open availability for 90-180 days.

The pay range for this role is $18.50 - $26.14 based on IKEA equivalent years of experience

Qualifications

• '- 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the home furnishing sector.
• - Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 18.5 USD to 26.14 USD and will be based on relevant work experience.
