Job summary

IKEA in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Retail Store Associate to float between departments and deliver a great shopping experience. You will actively assist customers, keep areas clean and stocked, and learn product features to help customers make informed choices.

The role offers 34–40 hours per week, permanent full-time status, with nights and weekends shifts. Pay ranges from $18.50 to $23.59 per hour, based on experience, plus benefits with the team.

Qualifications

• 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the home furnishing sector.
• Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.
• The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 18.5 USD to 23.59 USD and will be based on relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Actively approach customers requiring additional help, identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
• Keep area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked.
• Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits.
• Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
• Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
• Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
• Flow product to final selling location.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide customers with a simple and efficient Full Serve Hand Out experience.
• Provide the customer with a simple and smooth returns and exchange experience.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Store Associate, floating between various departments, contributing to a successful shopping experience, you will:

JOB TYPE: Permanent – Full-Time (benefits eligible)

The pay range for this role is $18.50 to $23.59
