Job summary

Hometown Pharmacy in Wisconsin is seeking a Retail Staff Pharmacist to join our on-site team. This role combines clinical care with efficient pharmacy operations, dispensing medications and counseling patients hourly.

The ideal candidate will hold a PharmD or equivalent, an active Wisconsin license, immunization certification, and 3+ years of leadership experience; familiarity with RX30 and Pioneer is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
  • Active Wisconsin pharmacist license and immunization certification.
  • 3+ years pharmacy experience with leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications accurately in a retail setting.
  • Evaluate orders for dosage, interactions, and outcomes.
  • Perform DUR to ensure safety and care quality.
  • Counsel patients on use, side effects, and health management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and care teams to improve therapy.
  • Respond to clinical questions from patients and professionals.
  • Maintain patient records and medication profiles.
  • Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations, including controlled substances.
  • Support cost-efficient operations and workflow.
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff to deliver service.

Description

As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a key role in both clinical care and pharmacy operations:

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications in a retail pharmacy setting
  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, including dosage, interactions, and therapeutic outcomes
  • Perform Drug Utilization Reviews (DUR) to ensure patient safety and optimal care
  • Counsel patients and caregivers on medication use, side effects, and health management
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to recommend therapy improvements
  • Respond to clinical questions from patients and healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and medication profiles
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including controlled substance management
  • Support cost-effective pharmacy operations and workflow efficiencies
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by guiding and supporting pharmacy staff

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
  • Active Pharmacist license in the State of Wisconsin
  • Certification to administer immunizations in Wisconsin

  • 3+ years of pharmacy experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience with process improvement and quality initiatives
