Retail Shift Supervisor

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Shift Supervisor to join our Ozark Store team. Qualifications
  • No degree required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year of management experience or previous Goodwill retail or warehouse experience.
  • Valid MO or IL driver’s license and insurance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
  • Leadership skills such as decision-making, motivation, goal-setting, and problem-solving.
  • Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise, direct, and train staff, ensuring they perform their primary functions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to encourage repeat donors, shoppers, and staff retention; de-escalate customer dissatisfaction effectively.
  • Coach and counsel employees regarding performance, including disciplinary actions up to termination.
  • Assign daily job duties using independent judgment to meet operational goals.
  • Identify and recommend employees for advancement based on performance.
  • Safeguard company property and personal information; report theft, misconduct, or unauthorized possession.
  • Follow, enforce, and model all agency policies, procedures, and values.
  • Ensure proper staffing, arrange replacements, and manage payroll processes.
  • Promote process improvements to eliminate wasteful practices.
  • Maintain a professional appearance according to MERS Goodwill’s dress code.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
