Retail Shift Supervisor
MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and professional Retail Shift Supervisor to join our Marion Store team. Qualifications
- No degree required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- At least 1 year of retail management experience or previous experience with Goodwill Retail or Warehouse operations.
- Valid MO or IL driver’s license and insurance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills.
- Leadership qualities such as decision-making, motivation, goal-setting, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using workplace technology like registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct, and train staff, ensuring they perform their essential functions.
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure repeat donors, shoppers, and staff retention, and resolve customer issues promptly.
- Coach and counsel employees regarding job performance, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Assign daily tasks independently to meet operational goals.
- Identify and recommend employees for advancement based on performance.
- Protect company property and personal information; report theft, misconduct, or unauthorized possession of company assets.
- Follow and enforce all company policies, procedures, and values.
- Manage staffing efficiently, handle replacements, and oversee payroll processes.
- Implement process improvements to reduce waste.
- Maintain a professional appearance according to company dress code.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
