MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is hiring a Retail Shift Supervisor for the OFallon Store - Market Center. This on-site, full-time hourly role supports operations, customer service, and staff supervision while aligning with our mission to change lives through work.

The position offers an hourly rate of $19.50, requires up to 25% travel, and includes a monthly bonus potential up to $500, along with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• No degree required; HS diploma/GED preferred.
• 1 year of retail management experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership skills: decision-making, motivation and goal-setting.
• Comfortable with registers, scheduling and inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and train staff to perform their duties.
• Provide superior customer service to retain donors, shoppers and staff.
• Coach employees on performance, including discipline if needed.
• Assign daily duties to achieve operational tasks.
• Identify employees for advancement based on performance.
• Safeguard company property and report theft or misconduct.
• Read and enforce all agency policies and values.
• Utilize staffing methods; arrange replacements when necessary.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.

Qualifications

• No degree is required. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 1 year of retail management experience or previous Goodwill Retail or Warehouse experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
• Leadership skills like decision-making, motivation, goal-setting, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff and ensure they perform their essential/primary functions.
• Provide superior internal and external customer service to ensure repeat donors, shoppers, and staff retention and de-escalate customer dissatisfaction quickly and effectively.
• Coach and counsel employees concerning the performance of their job duties, including discipline up to and including termination.
• Exercise independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to achieve daily operational tasks.
• Helps to identify and recommend employees with proven performance for advancement.
• Safeguards company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, or Risk Management.
• Must read, follow, model, and enforce all agency policies, procedures, and values.
• Utilizes efficient staffing methods to ensure the store is staffed appropriately. Arranges for replacements of absent employees when necessary. Audits, edits, and approves payroll.
• Eliminates wasteful practices through process improvement.
• Maintains a professional appearance, adhering to MERS Goodwill’s dress code.
• Other duties as assigned.
