Responsibilities

• Security & Patrol: patrol assigned areas or fixed post; control access points; report suspicious activity; respond to alarms and incidents.
• Monitoring & Reporting: monitor CCTV; complete daily logs and incident reports; stay aware of surroundings.
• Safety & Compliance: follow post orders and safety procedures; know emergency protocols; inspect for safety risks; support loss prevention.
• Customer Service: greet and assist customers, employees, visitors; provide directions and maintain a visible presence on-site.

Retail Security Guard (Full-Time)

LOCATION:

Tysons Corner Center – Tysons, VA

PAY:

$19.57/hour

POSITION TYPE:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Security & Patrol

• Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity
• Control access points and manage pedestrian/vehicle traffic
• Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety concerns
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents

Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems
• Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation
• Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all post orders, company policies, and safety procedures
• Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols
• Inspect property for safety risks (fire hazards, equipment issues, etc.)
• Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements

Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors in a professional manner
• Provide directions and support as needed
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence on-site

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to stay alert and respond calmly in emergency situations
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
• Ability to write clear and accurate reports
• Must present a professional appearance and demeanor
• State Guard license is required

Preferred

• Prior security or customer-facing experience
• Familiarity with CCTV, alarms, or access control systems
